Tis The Season

I can't believe Christmas is just four days away!

It seems so unreal! With that said, the gifts are packed, the stockings are hung, the tree is lit and the Christmas songs are playing (whether I want them to or not). Ha!

Since the last time I blogged, I've...
  • Visited The Peddler Show at the Pasadena Convention Center. It's kind of like the Nutcracker Market...just scaled down like 1000%. Though there aren't many merchants that attend, it's still really enjoyable to look at so many unique items under one roof. Not to mention, I found this amazing SFA wall decor! :)

  • Shopped at the Cypress Premium Outlets! It was the perfect weather for a day of shopping...70 degrees in December! Yep, I didn't stutter! I love the outlets since you just can't beat the bargains. For example, the Coach store had a 40% off sale on all items. Needless to say, I bought a Coach phone cover and head wrap while I was there. 
  • Registered to take the PPR on March 9th. Eeeek! Blah! Eeeek! 
  • Bought Audee his first coat! He's so adorable in it...even if he can't stand wearing it at all!

                      
  • Realized wind chimes are not my friend on a windy day. 
  • Realized car washes are pointless prior to said windy day.
  • Realized wind is a formidable opponent against electrical wires. :-/

Time flew by… 2013 brought me so many opportunities I never saw coming… I student taught at Huffman ISD. Visited New York City for the first time ever. :)  Got my dream job as a middle school dance teacher (166 students!) Moved into my first "big girl" apartment since college. Celebrated my first Christmas in my new place :) (Isn't this the cutest idea...cut the center loop in the large bow and just stick the smaller bow inside. Thanks Mom for the tip.) Last but not least, I realized it's the little things that can't be bought that truly mean the most. I can only imagine what 2014 will hold in store for me. (Saw this sign at the  Antique & Craft Mall of Pasadena )

Hi!

Wow! I can't believe I'm actually blogging. The thought of creating a blog has crossed my mind hundreds of times, but I always put it off for one reason or another. With that said, I have no clue where to begin. I feel like I must kick off my first blog entry with some grandiose statement that is history book worthy, but my think tank is running on empty. I guess I'll just begin with a little about myself...how original. To begin with, my name is Gina. I'm a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University. Yep, I go to a univeristy that has a doctorate program in forestry. Yep, it's a tiny university located in an even tinier city, but I love it. Dance! Dance! Dance!

So I don't know about you, but I'm so looking forward to the numerous dance television shows/movies coming out this summer.  I'm so excited about this that I've decided to devote an entire post to it. Enjoy! First Position This is a documentary that follows ballet dancers as they compete for dance scholarships. Unfortunately, there are limited screenings, so you'll have to go to the River Oaks Theatre if you reside in the Houston area. The only other screenings in Texas are in Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin. The film opens on May 18. Breaking Pointe This show premieres on May 31 on the CW. It follows the lives of members of Ballet West, a professional company within Salt Lake City, Utah.  Bunheads If you're as much of an ABC Family fanatic as I am, I'm sure you've seen the previews for this show for the past few months. Brought to you by the creator of Gilmore Girls, this show premieres on June 11. All
